The match was played on Sheikh Zayed stadium, Abu Dhabi. The CSK had won the toss and elected to bowl first. The MI was seemed very powerful at the beginning as they were 52 for 1 in the powerplay. The Rohit got out on 12 by Piyush Chawla. After Quinton De Kock got out on 33 the wickets kept falling for MI. They had Saurabh Tiwary for their highest scorer of 42. This led the team to a fighting total of 163 for 9. The top bowler for CSK was Lungi Ngidi for taking 3 wickets giving 38 runs.
